"May those who have never erred in the vicinity of their rod or custom cast the first boot". The rest of us can only commiserate with you in your chagrin and self-flagellation. I will not come and kick your ***, but were I closer, I would come and ***ist you in righting the wrong (or fixing the damage in less pompous vernacular). dj
Yep, I can relate to your grief! I once backed my motorhome into my 454SS pickup! Not a good feeling! Ross M in East Texas
It happens...**** it up and move on. I parked my Sportster next to my recently aquired GT500KR many years ago. I sat on the bike staring at the car cuz I really liked it and knew I was about to make a big pile of $$$$$ on it. So I get off the ****in bike and set it on the kickstand...that wasn't down! Yes indeed, nice sized ding in the perfect 1/4 panel. We all get stupid once...I said once...alright, the rest of you stop it! I said once dammit!
When I worked in a mates panel shop I managed to back out of the rear door of the factory straight into the front half of a donor car tearing the **** out of the just finished and about to be washed rear bar of the car I was in. Did I mention this was on my first day??
At least there was a chance that the car could have been parked somewhere else when you backed into it. I had lived in my house for over 20 when I sideswiped the huge rock alongside my driveway when backing out my 57. There was no chance that the 3 foot high 4 foot wide hunk of granite could have moved into my path. Stupid seems to be an intermittent illness. I can go for years with no outbreaks and then out of the blue, I get as dumb as the rock that I backed into. I think the secret is to try and minimize the number of outbreaks. I do know many that have incurable cases.
i know the feeling i recently backed into a car at christmas and i feel like i have dumb *** wrote across my forehead.
Ok you didnt tell us what you ran into the 48 with as if you tell us you might be instore for 2 *** kickings >>>>.
Thanks to all for your simpity and offers of *** kicking.I guess the accident was a combination of poor judgement,no backup lights, too many cars in driveway, and old stiff neck that won't turn easily. On closer examination in the daylight it could have been worse, nothing hurt except the door,it could be fixed but it's got rust in the bottom anyway,I've got another better door if I can get the 60 year old screws loose.Anyway we'll get it one way or another.
You could PM Enjenjo or Fat Cat. They've got a few doors for those cars. Which style is it? Happy New Year anyway!
i dontwanna kick your ***, but if you wanna fly me out, ill spend a couple weeks there makin fun of you!!! it fuggin cold here!
You've got another door? Sweet, it sounds like you've got an excuse to head into the shop then, doesn't it?
Well, how tall are you? I'm not as flexible as I used to be. I'm just not sure if I can kick that high. Anymore.
you dumb sh -- why dont you look where your goin! You deserve to get your *** kicked! hope you enjoy fixin it! there how,s that? [thats what i said to meself when I did the same stupid thing]
There's nothing worse than smacking into your own vehicle with your own vehicle. Unless, after 25 years of pulling into your own driveway, you smack into your own (permanently attached) planter with your own truck (with your new chrome bumper). Kick my ***!
Loading my 52 olds on to the trailer I got to close to the side rail and s****ed about 3 feet of the p***enger door. Broke my heart. Dad was there so I got him to kick me in the ***.
It isn't like you made an original move; practically everyone on this board has wounded their own stuff before. Round up some replacement parts and put it back together. Maybe upgrade something while you are at it. And try to smile while you are doing it.
