@Sky Six Care to elaborate? Last post on the HAMB?? You've shared some kool kustom material here, to the benefit of others. The HAMB always needs good relevant content. I thought maybe you were leaving for the-book-which-is-of-the-face, or insta-whatever. But I see from your profile that you still login and check out threads. Just no more post?

Answer here only if you want ... or send me a PM, if you want. I don't want to turn @1stGrumpy 's great thread into something else ...

And with that in mind, here's some kustom Fords (and a few Mercs) from 1984 KKOA show in Des Moines.

Never happen! it has 17" Halibrand style wheels. I would be crucified for doing it.

39 years ago? Maybe? Maybe not. Shot at Des Moines KKOA 1984. If so, several changes but of a similar flavor. I see neither has stainless trim around windshield, so assume both are Mainline?

Ever think the 'tri-5' in Fords might be closer in relevance if they were '54, '55 and '56?
'54 is more the same 'boxy' style, '57 grew in length and fins...
Also, '54 was the first with the same ball joint suspension as the '55 and '56.
And, the tube cross member that is the same as the later 2 years, moreover, the first year for the Y-block.
    I have a '54 Coupe. (406, 4 speed) A real 'sleeper'.

I like this. I bet that paint with the scallops really pops in the sun. Seems like it would have made sense, and been pretty easy, to splice in a few inches of an extra piece of stainless on the tops of the quarters when they were extended for the Packard tail lights.
