History Images of vintage gas stations ~ pre 65

    I joined so I could share this old family photo.

    This is the B&R Garage in Hannibal, Missouri, operated by my Great Uncle, Don Edison Barker, and his business partner, Roy Ranacker. They were also a Ford dealership. Barker is second from right, in white shirt, and I believe Ranacker is at the far right.

    Any guesses on the year?

  3. Nope Photograph was taken in 1943 so '42 is it.
    Virginia Lively used to be a beauty operator, today she works at a Sears gas station. Louisville, Kentucky, June 1943

    Here is a Mobiloil gas station and "Auto Laundry" at North Florissant and Bremen (City Route 66), St. Louis, Missouri, circa 1932. The resolution of this photo is fantastic. We believe this is the first car wash photo we have ever seen on old Route 66. It says "Car Washed $1.50".
