Motion Pictures Imaginary Crimes 1955 Chevy

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Richard D, Dec 11, 2012.

  1. This was from a 1994 movie with Harvey Keitel, Vincent D'Onofrio and Fairuza Balk. Chris Penn climbs out in a brief scene.

It looks like the outside door handles are in the original location?

Come on guys. This car has been posted on the HAMB for a whole HOUR and we don't know the current owner, condition, modifications and history yet? Man, the HAMB is slacking lately!

Seriously, cool car and am anxious to see if any info comes up.

Not great looking chop IMO. The good news is that Fairuza Balk has some very good looking chops.

The more I look at that car, it looks like they used a rear windshield in front?

If they did they flipped it upside down. Looks more like they used the original windshield, but modified the chrome to fit the chop.

Since it appears to have suicide doors and a rear window for the front, maybe they just took the front fenders off and swapped them with the rear quarters...

Looks like the top was brought straight down, so the windshield had to be laid back to meet the roof. It's not a graceful chop, but I really like it, it has that cool 50's awkwardness to it. That kind of "in progress" custom thing.

  21. Nice looking five five, you never see one chopped any more.

I am in love with the suicide doors as well, the older I get the more in love with suicide doors I get, they just make it soooo much easier to get in and out especially with a low ridding chopped car.

I'd like to know who built this too. And what it looks like from the side. I wonder if its a Eddie Paul car. Edit: I looked on the Eddie Paul website and its not listed as a movie he did vehicles for. There can't be that many company's providing cars for movies, I'm sure somebody knows a place to start looking

I'd like to see a side shot. If you look at the top fronts of the doors, it looks like they are squared off. Yet the windshield is rounded. Wonder what the A pillar looks like?

I dig it. When I was taking driver's ed, I carpooled with a friend. A mutual friend has a chopped '55 2 dr Chevy wagon. Way big chop, tunnel ran sbc, bright blue. It's still a cool car. You can imagine we thought we were big **** when he picked us up in that.

My guess is that it is a done for movie car. Probably not fit for the road. Painted front bumper. Door fit is terrible at front fender. Moon disc with 3/4" whites. (odd combo), Rear view mirror isn't where a car guy would put it. Bird removed but not emblem, again not how most car guys do it.
