When you talk about communication, that is key. Updated, correct, fast. No one wanted to do the news letter ,phone chain etc so I said I would handle it. I wanted to make it as efficient as possible. So emails ,update the website, update phone #,get rid of old information, on line news and news letter. NOPE, had to be on paper mailed to each member, cant change or delete old member info. I think some thought it was disrespectful to delete a dead members name?? They all have cell phones but emails were out of the question. All the while******ing about how much it costs each month for postage.
The cars and styles and such should remain the same but come on. This is 2017. It we stay in a rut and cant decide to grow and advance, its all doomed. The Hamb would never have gotten off the ground!!

I have been the president for a number of years and you are right, when it comes to holding office the secretary's job is the one no one want's to do,I held that position for several years and writing, coping, folding, addressing, stamping and the trip to the post office was/is a PITA but nowadays the newsletter is sent out as a e-mail with the exception of two members and they get a phone call.

At the meetings we have food, sometimes a hot dog or a burger, sometimes a fish fry but one of our newest members is one heck of a cook and we all look forward to his meetings, last time was prime rib.

Because we don't host any big car shows anymore the large donations to civic organizations are smaller, but we still have special collections & fundraisers to help others less fortunate.

I have been a member so long these guys and gals are like my family. HRP

Thanks to Mrs HRP for pics. Somtimes trying to follow formal rules can make things a bit more difficult. Most volunteer based groups end up with a few that usually end up doing the most to help keep things going. As you said it is the long term friendships make it all worth while. Keep on Rodding

I suppose even "Try City Rod and Custom" would have shown some effort to pay attention to the name of the club!

    Funny man,

Try- as a noun,an effort to accomplish something; an attempt.

Tri- containing three or a group of a specified kind.

Great T - might have to steal that idea. Some of our older members are getting a little shakey, too. Nice thing to do. Gary

The problems start when your wife and girlfriend show up at the same time.

Yes,Danny told me they talked about it at the club meeting here at the house last Thursday.

Early last week Donnie was working on the truck in the garage and he had a fire under the hood,he got it out but he will have to replace the carburetor, all the hoses and some rewiring.

The hood will have to be repainted.
