If you have surfed the main board you may have seen this:http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=20255  So where do you think this leaves us? Many of us would not be cl***ified as "traditional" because in many cases we tend to be mutts and ****rels blending the old with the new so labeling us "hot rods" or "Kustoms" by the definitions discussed on the main board may leave us in limbo. So guys and gals what are your thoughts?

What it looks like to me is we will be able to post in the general discussion area. That area will still be for anything not specifically related to traditional hot rods or customs.

I don't think we have much to worry about at all. I didn't see anything about him moving the social groups (or I missed it). The vast majority of what we have/do here I feel falls under the "Hotrods" or "Kustoms" label. I would take issue (not that it would matter) with anyone that would eliminate or want to eliminate this group based on the definitions discussed on the main board. Much of what I take from all those discussions is many of the traditional guys want their cake and eat it too. They will call out folks that put a modern part or accessory on an older car like ours but think nothing of ordering and installing a new part on their '32 from Speedway or a host of other vendors. The bottom line is; it's Ryans forum and he'll do what he wants. If we don't like it, we can adapt or move on. Again, I'll be surprised if he does anything with this social group!

One of the perks of being a Social Group is we can play outside the box and without the confines of the main board,Ryan says he will have additional moderators.Gee,I wonder if we could actually get one to fix our members list? See previous thread here about that.

Jeff, if you read all the posts on that thread, you'll see that Ryan sent me a PM stating that it will be fixed in an update later in the year.

I dont see an issue. I am a member on other forums for other type of off topic vehicles I own and they all have seperate sub forums for certain interests. Seems to keep things more organized and easier to locate information when searching. I just hope they dont change the groups like this one. If it werent for this group my car would still be a pile of parts and not getting miles piled on all summer!! I wouldnt even mind seeing a sub-group for just photos of vehicles and builds like he said.

Since I joined this group I rarely even go on the main board. I don' think think this will affect us within this social group; in fact it may cause an increase in new groups being created for others who can't quite fit anywhere else.

most annoying thing on the main board are all the self appointed ''moderators''. One in particular even stated in response to Ryan's message that ''we'' wouldn't allow fibergl*** cars done to resemble steel. Ryan came right back and said it would depend on the build. He and a few others are to me a large part of what's wrong with the main board. Which is the reason I seldom post there anymore.

I agree with ol ladys mad, besides, kustom cars built from the 40's and 50's paved the way for modern technology, Id say this group is full of factory know how and traditional customizing. TRADITION NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE
