I have Edmunds & Jones replica headlights w/ #4453 snowmobile seal beams. Would like to improve output with modern bulbs, reflectors, lenses. Any Suggestions as to what can be made to fit? Greg

  2. speedshifter- if you do a search on E&J, there are a few threads that some of the guys have done and I think one was on exactly what you're talking about doing!

If you pull the original socket out from inside ... You can pinch a modern halogen bulb in the retaining plates. You'll just need two longer screws to hold the brass retaining plates together with the light inside. Get a headlight socket pigtail out of an Isuzu from autozone with a 90% head so once the light and socket are installed the wires point downward towards the bottom so you have clearance inside at the back of the headlight

Doing this. You have modern highs and lows, new wiring, original lenses and reflectors , and no damage to the original inside stuff. Pm me with any questions

  5. I'd love to hear more details about this also. I have a pair I'm redoing right now. I've been debating on going with the snowmobile lights or a conversion to a modern bulb.

Anyone have pics of either option?

    Hope these pics help

Looks like I installed the 90 degree socket with wires facing up. There is a small metal plate so I couldn't go down with the wires

Jerry - just wanted to clear it up for the O.P. & anyone reading - they were pigtails that I had from a SUBARU that I stuck into your E&J's while wiring the car . I knew I was holding onto them for a good cause ! I don't know if Isuzus use the 90-degree sockets , but Scoobies do . IIRC , the wires aim upwards because of the way the H-4 bulb was sitting in there .
