In 1962 A model coupe to europe-did they make it?

So l am on the throne reading an old copy of hotrod from jan 1962
The pages do not make good poo tickets so dont try that but they are
great to flick through.
I read a piece where Frank Misllop was going to take a 1930 a model running a sbc to visit London Paris Athens etc.
What a dream , hows that for youthfull spirit to undertake this sort of adventure . Thats if they managed to pull it of. I really hope they did.
Maybe a long shot but does this story ring any bells?
