Hey there folks, I'm about to paint a car in black primer. I have used PPG DP-90 in the past and have really liked it. What I was wondering was, are there any other black primer's that anyone out there has used that will do what my DP-90 did but are simpler and cheaper? I'm curious to know. Thanks folks, old school dave

  2. I've never used it and it's not a primer but a lot of guys swear by John Deere Blitz Black.

Dave do a search here. There's more threads and more info here on this subject than we care to admit. :)

If you are looking for just a satiny type black finish blitz black is where its at. easy to spray I believe it is cut with water and air dries and is pretty durable. The only problem I had is finding it in gallon cans. The one John Deere place I called would order it for me but minimun of 4 gallons, they said they didnt keep big cans in stock due to it dries fast and would dry up before sold. BUT it was like $24 a gallon. If you need a primer sealer dp90 is way to go.
