Ok it just like it says in the raw. I am building a 31 coupe on a brookville a chassie. My plans are to clean up the metal and clear it. I dont like shiney paint nor do i want flat or simi-flat. I got the body on a trade in and it was already chopped. I dont know how much or if i will have to diet to get in but i dont care. Lol its going together. They will be alot of people who do and dont like what im doing. Soooooo........Let it fly. This is going to be fun for me and hamber remarks is what makes it even funner.

    Now down to the build.

My car when pics were sent to me before trade.

Now this is where im at for now. I got a 4 inch drop axle and disc brake set up for it. I was going to do drum but i got a good deal for the entire set up. I was installing it and ran into some problems. The hairpins are to different lengths. Ill have to wait til monday for the speed shop to open to swap them out. I got some more parts for the chassie, ill post it up as i go through this build.

I have a question. I am going to run pete and jake rear ladder bars and transverse buggie with 8 inch rear out of maverick. I bought the frame with crossmember for coil overs. I am running front 40 spring for rear end, i have all the brackets for the rear but would like to know if anybody has used the brookville a frame, and used close to this set up. The rear transverse is new 2 me. I have read about keeping the shackles at a 45 degree angle at ride height.
? is, when mounting the rear spring centered to the rear cross member do I just drill into the crossmember and use u bolts to hold spring. The wheel base is going to close to stock and can figure that part out. Its the mounting of the spring is the problem i am haveing. I got a certifyed welder that is going to do the finished welds. I have to just mock up and tack it and take it to him.
    Thanks.

On my current build I'm using the same Brookville frame.. I had to put a plate to extend the back of the crossmember for the spring to keep the wheelbase 103 1/2".. Mine was also set up for coil overs and I wanted to run transverse spring behind axle......

I got a bolt in rear trans mount. I found center of crossmember and clamped it down.

After makeing sure the frame was level and were i plan for the rake i wanted, I then took the motor mounts and bolted to the plastic block. I lined up the transission mount and set it in. It came out to 5 degrees.

NICE! The fact that you have a TIG setup should make this a nice build to follow.

I had to make sure that the mounts (in case my tacks came off) were marked where the are going to be at.

I am now setting up the vega box, so that my friend (brad) can come back up with his tig and put a safe and professional weld. I felt my welder was to wek, and i must face it some things should be left up to the pros.:D

Ok so my friend brad who has been helping me do the tigging called saturday. He wanted to know if i was ready for some more welds. I dropped everything and we got alot done. Also found out brad is on here under the name patinabiscayne. He is in my friends list and hasnt posted. I told him to do a intro maybe if he stops helping out everybody he can spend some time behind his computer.

Here goes it will take a couple of minutes to get pics and whats been done so bear with me:D.

So we started with the vega box mount. We had the mount but had to make a brace.

Here is after tacked, and after welding the brace in.

The i had to find center of pete and jakes ladder bar mount and trim to fit into the frame. This took me some time. I just didnt want to cut too short so alot of grinding to get it to fit.

once the bar was in place we bolted the ladder bars in and set the rear end and tacked the brackets in after we got our pinion angle. Then we set the spring up and added the brackets another friend jr made for me. Brad tigged in the brackets for the spring bracket, spring axle brackets, and now i have to bust back apart so we can flip frame over and finish welding.

I would like to thank scrapmetel48 for the help on the pic of the rear spring mount, brad for the welding and being patient with me goofing around. Also mike goodman and jamie at honest charlies for letting me come down and measure frames, and make patterns, and
THE HAMBERS:D for all the tech and build threads.

Next i will be painting and reassemble for roller. Then start on the body.

    THANKS

my friend brad came over and we got the chassie finished. What we did was finish the vega mount and rear spring mount. my friend jr had made three plates, one for top and the other for the bottom. The third plate goes under the spring. He tigged the top, then made gussets and tigged to the plates and crossmember. Then we finished the ladder bar crossmember. Now in the next couple of days well finish the rearend and i can paint and reassemble. Then on to the body:D which will be an all winter long project. Heres some pics, let me know if ya think it is strong enough or needs anything else.
