Finally put the engine and trans in, off the truck and in the car completely by myself I might add haha. Still a ways off from firing it up but I'm on it. Running original '60s Stahl fenderwell headers with a Saginaw 4spd and Hurst "Ram Rod" shifter. Rear is a P-case, not sure of what gearing yet but it will be steep. Picked up the correct tires for it as well, there not mounted yet but it's Firestone deluxe champion 7.75-15's for the front and original NOS Challenger 7" super stock cheater slicks out back. Need an original factory Rochester injection unit but damn they cost so much. Keep your eyes out though, nothing show quality just something that works. Little confused on how to hook up the clutch linkage, I'll post some pics. More to come! -Dean
Wow, this is awesome... I wonder if that Valvoline sticker was just put on the car (b&w pic) for the picture? Look where it's located. And I see the crew all have Valvoline hats in their hand. Great picture...
It's going back just as raced, right down to every detail, except for the fuel injection, at least for now. They are just too hard to get a hold of. Plans are once its done we are going to flatbed it back out to Iowa and run it at the Hot Rod Reunion along side one of the original drivers and the mechanic. -Dean
Here's the pic I promised you when the car laid in the bushes in an alley in Craig, Nebraska. The little guy is my son, who is now 24!! Sorry the pic isn't better, but I couldn't find the original. I scanned this from an old issue of our Car Club's newsletter, the Cruisin' News.
