Found this motor this p*** summer and noticed that the top pans had Industrial wrote on them.Is there anything special about these engines? fitzee
i heard (but don't know for sure) that they have solid lifters and adjustable rocker arms, which is why they have bumps in the valve covers.but there's no way to know unless you tear into it-george
That is a solid lift moter..the bumps on the covers....Highly sought after....All chrysler p***. were hydralic lift......as fer horsepower...the moter has little.....but that can easliy be remieded. check the # on the front pad for identifacation...located just behind the cross over.....The block has a different w/p openings than trucks or cars.....ya got good raw material to work with ...wanna sell it?
been doing some reading on the hemi myself... but read most of the stuff in a book.. heres some info on the net http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=1955+chrysler+HEMI%2C+industrial
Yeah that rocker gear and those valve covers are good items, I happen to be looking for some right now.
Yep, I've not seen and industrial that actually had the adjustable rockers yet, just the valve covers with the bumps. Here are a couple of posts that have some more info. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=320194&Forum=All_Forums&Words=industrial%20hemi&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=1year&Main=319809&Search=true#Post320194 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=286436&Forum=All_Forums&Words=industrial%20hemi&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=1year&Main=285274&Search=true#Post286436 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=267973&Forum=All_Forums&Words=HEMIs%20Industrial&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=1year&Main=267973&Search=true#Post267973
