Okay! Guys got an Email from Marc Meadors,Goodguys would like to have us at Indy. He needs some info like how many cars are coming. What kind of money we would like and if we want to run eliminator style or exhibition. The Ram Rods are in and I'm sure the Hornets are in,so who else. I think we need to make a good showing,so all you guys that are building need to get busy. Let me know asap, you can PM me or use this thread.
Sounds like good news to me! As far as we are concerned, i would like to see us all together and run each other a few times ( the more times the better) So I guess my vote is for "exhibition." style . I would even sponsor a trophy for the fastest HA/GR of the weekend. Money ? My vote on the money is to give the teams tow money based on mileage and that would be it. In our case we wouldnt get any thing as we are local towing about two miles. Put us down as we will be there ! That make three? Bubbas Hot Rod Shop.... Hey Hiney, have ya changed that transmission yet ??? Or are the Hornets just a "shiftless" group ???
Yeah, Uncle Otis was readin the rulz and thought that violated rule #19. 19. Automatic transmissions are not allowed. All cars with clutches must run a stamped steel bell housing or a 1/4″ ****ter shield.
If I got tow money, I might be able to make it. Brad will be racing his top fuel car that weekend, so the trip is on me.
Randy, were going to work on the tow money. That what all the guys that are going need to figure out is what kind of money we need. I'll tell you guys last year the Ram Rods and Hornets got alittle tow money and our entry and pit p***es for free. You figure up the entry and pit p***es for all the guys and that adds up to alot.
I calculated this all out last year. It is about 735 miles from Edmond to Indy (an 11 hour drive). Times 2...at 10 mpg for the Dodge...an average of $2.50 a gallon...I figured it would run about $368 for fuel alone. With the weather you never know how many days you will be there to get your runs in...so incidentials could double that. I was going to be prepared to spend up to $750 for this one race...but after all ...its Indy.
Thats probably about right Zilla. We also got a sponsor last year to help out with the gas money and will try to get one for this year.
2B-banjo here, we should have 2 hamb rails there. We will go along with whatever the majority wants as far as travel money, entry fees, etc. 2b-banjo
You guys that have rails in the works, WE ALL WANT TO SEE THEM! Start a build thread and feature your handiwork. Please.
Guys, What's the date for Indy? Exhibition racing sounds fine to me. It would be nice to get a few bucks and pit p***es to help with the expenses. Ron
Ron Indy is June 8,9 and 10th We will have to be there on the 7th. I'll try for the money, you never know.
Yes Bubba it is a HA/GR car. Got the frame welded yesterday been slow going...might be a push to have it ready by June 7 but we're trying
Thank for the offer Mac as well as the offer of help from Bubba while back. It seems like we take one step forward and then 2 steps back but we will persevere. (sp?)
Pics of our HA/GR car progress are here: http://scroungerscc.com/hagr.htm We've been working on a limited budget, and we've had that depleted by falling into a couple of too-good-to-p***-up deals. It IS coming together. Once we get the base ch***is together it should go more quickly as that will fuel the team's enthusiam. Glenn
