    Yancy,
After going to the HCPU and following Lon in his roadster I decided then no one has a good excuse for not driving their car. (sans family reasons).

If you pull this one off you are HARD CORE!!!! No heater/defroster, wipers and open exhaust!!! I'll have to move Lon to number two on my list of hard corer's.

Good luck and you guys take lot's of pictures. This will be a trip the two of you will never forget.

I'm jealous, I've been working so much OT I haven't done more than start my Stude and pull it out of the garage this year. Are you taking I-74 to I-55 below Peoria, IL and then doin' the Route 66 thing?

Guys, lets all stick together and keep an eye/ear out for him. If he needs anything this board will be his best bet.

    Road Rocket Update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning Yancey and Brittney were met by the sending off party that included MercDeuceMan, GMC Bubba, Flathead31Coupe, VonDust, Naomi (that's me writing) and Tom. After a hearty breakfast at the Waffle & Steak we all gathered at the shop for last minute details and once-overs. At a 8:45 the Studebaker was fired up the she was pulled out into the street and after a good rev of 6000 RPMs, her clutch was side-stepped they was launched towards Vegas, disappearing dramatically into the heavy fog that surrounded Lynhurst drive.
At 1030 they were in Marshell, ILL (as Bubba informed ya'll) and this they arrived safetly in Miami, OK. They were greeted several times over throughout IL & MO by the state troopers of those fine states, they were taking photos and giving ******s.... An OK state trooper was even kind enough to follow them off an exit to informed them that at 2200RPM in 5th gear was 92 MPH! He fortunately saw the humor in life and was nice to just give them a warning... then proceeded to ooooohhhhhhh & aaaaaahhhhhhhh over the g***er.
Now they are bedded down for the night in a hotel where there is a Porsche convention going on, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. So needless to say the Studebaker is sitting in the middle of a bunch of Viner-Schnitzels (spelling????)!!!!
We'll give an update tomorrow night! Thanks to all of your kind words and support! the Road Rockets and Yancey thank you all.
Axle...... he's getting CLOSER!!!!!! Shifters have plenty of High Life ready... the boy is going to need it after this trip!! Enjoy the departure photos!

I am jealous. First of all that you are doing it. And second of all that 92 mph is only 2200 rpm.

    Looking forward to the updates...

Note to self: Need overdrive trans or different rear end gears...

Just talked to Yancy. The are at the Blue Swallow in To***cari, N.M. as I write this. John I remember driving this in my 30 Model A Roadster. I think you could call that hard core as well hahaha. Then again going down the mountain after going through Flaggstaff and having my carbs actually freeze was quite an adventure in itself. Nothing like 2 Stromberg carb bases all cover with ice and making the throttle stick. Anyway Yancey says thiings are going good other than the clutch linkage keeps bending but he just bends it back and keeps going. I know he is having a blast. Look out Las Vegas!!!!

    Goose,
No disrespect intended. I know you have done more than your fair share of roadstering all over the U.S.

I hope two weeks from now when Yancey and Britt get back home that this trip, it will prove to all the naysayers that a g***er style car IS DRIVABLE.
