    Hey all,

I'm building my first rod and want to start early getting an education on the motor. My plan is for a blown (8-71) BBC. I know it's gonna have a shit-ton of power, but i'm building the car for the street. I don't need every last ounce of power, i just want the motor to live a long time.

I want to build it myself, not pay someone to build it. Does anyone have any suggestions for blocks, blowers, pistons, specs, etc.? I need a starting point since i've never done this before. I'm in socal, if there's a builder/guru that you know that would be willing to talk to me about this, that'd be awesome too!!!

Thanks in advance. By the way, the car is going to be a 32 Tudor. i'm working on the frame now. It's boxed, ready for finish welding. We Z'd the rear about 9" and lowered the chassis by making a pie cut at the firewall and dropping the back of the car about 4 more inches. It's pretty low! Tranny will be a manual six speed.

    I'll post some pictures later.

    Thanks in advance!!!!

    Don

You can get a P.A.W. catalog and see what they use to build a blown BBC. Their prices aren't bad and you assemble the motor yourself. Also check the www.speedomotive.com website for their blown engines for specs.
