Technical Info on 1957 GM hydramatic

    Have an old school 29 RPU. I didn’t build it…..it came this way. 1957 283 w/a 4 speed hydro. Came out of a 57 chev pu. 63 Olds rear end. My question…..the position of the
    Accelerator pump lever position. Does the lever need to be pushed down or pulled up to feed the trans. I know there appears to be a “neutral “ position with a small amount of play, I am trying to make the linkage in conjunction with the accelerator. I know there is an adjustment factor so a

    When I had a C&O stick hydro (55 olds slant pan) put behind a 283 in 1966 they had the rod going to the trans from the carb pulling the same way as the rod that came from the foot feed; as I remember they drilled a hole in the carb linkage 1/2” under the one from the foot feed. They told me under no circumstances to put the rod to the lower hole in the stock carb linkage where a Powerglide would go.
