I work with a guy. and we gt to talking about old custom cars. and he started to tell me about his grandfather out of simi valley(ca) his last name was WEIDERHOLD. I guess he used to make prop cars for the movie industry. the one movie that he told me about was back to the future 2(all thiose funny flying car things). i would just imagine if he was building cars for props that he has been in the car customizing business for some time. and his age would put him right in the middle of the movement. i was wondering if any one out there has heard of the name. i told my co worker that i would try and find some info on his late grandfather. perhaps there are cars of his out there and maybe he can get his hands on one. if you have any info i would much appreciate it.
I lived in Simi for many years, 1970s to 1990s. It was a hotbed of hot rod activity and home to many in the industry. I never heard of a man in the car business by that name during that time. I didn't know everybody in town, of course, but I was pretty well connected with car people. Good luck in your search.
maybe he was wrong where he was from. i lived out there also and havent heard of the guy but i was in oxnard. but the search continues....
