I'm posting this for a friend who is looking for info and whereabouts of this small streamliner. Two of the photos were taken at the 1967 Speedweek. It ran in I/streamliner then and was driven by Rick Smalley. It also ran K/streamliner, and would have been in the same time frame. The last known owner was Mary Young from Tonawanda N.Y. but it may have changed hands. Any info on car or current owner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mick
I would suggest you post your info over on landracing.com There is a thread in the Bonneville forum ***led "Old Bonneville Photos". A lot of good info and knowledgeable people. http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,5202.0.html
Thanks, I'm heading there next, but there's so many knowledgable people here I thought I'd give it a shot. Mick
It is the World Famous "Ball Point Banana" possibly the only rope start Bonneville Streamliner ever. it belonged to Ben Jordan from Tawanda, NY. It has a 37 Evinrude on alcohol in it, rope start. Came out in the late '70s. Never saw it run. I think the owner liked partying better.
Thanks Rich, I can always count on the HAMB! Do you know if the car is still in Mary Young's posession? Thanks again, Mick
From Dfreeo@yahoo.com . Who can tell me more about this car? I am Punky's grandson and the car is now sitting in her garage. Arnold was my uncle and he died when I was younger and I have been looking to get some info about this car. Any more pics? I have only 4 or 5 pics that apear to have been taken in the early 1970's? .....................................
i don't remember the first year the ball point banana came to the salt. i'm guessing '65-'67. i do remember that i was still in junior high (middle school for the youngsters ) i always thought it was a cute little car.
