Technical Info on Flathead Head Acorn Nut Covers?

    I also put them on when the paint is wet and if they fit a bit loose just give them a rap on one flat to distort just enough for a tight fit. Then if you need to remove use a 3/4 end wrench rattle it back and forth a few times and they pull right off.

    Send the metric Chinese junk back to the supplier and tell them to get you something Made in America that fits.

    I just gave mine a little squeeze with a pair of pliers. That was more than enough to tighten them up enough they had to be tapped on with a soft hammer.

    buddy went all stainless/ shiny fasteners on his flattie, hardware store had small acorn nuts, pretty good quality, so he asked and because he wanted 50 they ordered them from their distributer... took a little while...

  8. Get some of them 2" long chrome spike nuts the motorcycle guys use.
    Of course it'll make your flattie look like a prehistoric porcupine, but whatever. :confused:

    A short piece of black plastic electrical tape INSIDE the cover - Easy on and easy off and no clean up
