I believe the cam you have is a Winfield Super No. 1. Lift is 325 and duration is 272. Probably falls somewhere in between mild and full race.

Great lookin' engine; love the magneto. The cam should be fine. One question : what's the displacement of that engine? That may change things.

I recently got my mag rebuilt by a gentleman named spud, who is pretty savvy on magnetos, and he was kind enough to throw in those wires for my set up. Perhaps in the near future I will use some blk 440's.

Looks like you bought a used motor.
Is that the cam in it now ?
Longish duration & low lift = a lazy cam.
You can do a lot better than that Winfield grind, lots of options out there.

Winfield ground a cam for me in 1951. Anyone know where I might start to look for to find the records for this so another grinder could grind me the cam he did if they have the specs. I think the number is either 7109 or a 7009. TIA.
