Trying to fine some information on the motor specs on my 55 Chevy. Bought in Denver last year from Street Dreamz. 355 engine, victor jr. intake, world products heads, harlan sharp roller rockers. Need to get more information, cam specs. Thanks for any help. 003.JPG 3-12-15 010.JPG

Best way to find out the cam specs is to pull the balancer and timing cover to read the # and name on the end of the stick. Looks like a Victor intake and a double pumper on top, the Victor is highly regarded for high rpm. How's it run? Tranny /rear?

4:11 gears, two speed powerglide pretty quick, but not to good on highway. Changed balancer and front seal no specs on front, they may be on the back of cam.

  4. i'm not sure how anyone here can tell you the cam specs on a motor there by looking at a picture? you will need to track down who built the motor and ask if he remembers what camshaft he put in

seriously though, my guess is the cam is probably somewhere around this specs, or maybe the next one up, if it runs good with all that stuff on it.

Thanks for your help, just hoping that someone will recognize the car.

That's what I figured. The odds of someone recognizing it, AND knowing the cam specs, are kind of slim.

It might help to use a more informative subject line, such as "does anyone recognize this purple and black 55 chevy"

May also be a ''no name'' cam. You could use a dial indicator and at least measure the valve lift on the intake and exhaust without too much trouble.
