wow, funky *** rules. i wanted to take a ride this year but like always nothing moves without a push. well unless someone has a 1949-1954 driver that they wanna unload for no more than 3 g's.
Damn, sounds like its going to be pretty strict this year! And at $25/person im gonna have to think about it...
Sounds like total control to me Now be good children or youll have to stand in the corner Ollin last I heard it was $35.00 per person Took in two shows last weekend Barris in Culver city and Gasoline Gallery in El Segundo both free and lots of great cars
Sure sounds to me like Long Beach really want you to be anywhere but there. Sure am glad that the Right Coast, for the most part hasn't gotten rule happy.

I can understand the colors, weapons and drugs,,a plain stupidity,,,burnouts in a crowed area,,, But no food or drink,,,no video camers,,,I guess this is a case of national security!.. This is a death nail to the event in my opinion. HRP
Kinda sounds like the rules for our little town car show. RULE #1 If you insist on bringing food or beer you must share. RULE #2 You can't kill anyone unless related to them. RULE# 3 If you rev the engine and blow it up you must pick up the big pieces. After they cool of course. RULE # 4 The only way you can leave early is with a police ******( IE parole violation, outstanding tickets, child support violations, restraining orders. ect. )
Think you missed one.I'm surprised to see that there isn't a NO ORCA BETTYS rule. You CALIs must be slipping.
Lots of my favorite bands playing this time. Can you please post a music schedule? I need to figger out which day I want to go... Some of these rules will be broken. I'm just glad there will be plenty of knuckleheads to keep the fuzz occupied. People watching last year was pretty entertaining, the big stabbing was a minor wound with a nail file.
There was a stabbing at the first EasyRider show on the Queen Mary. I think around 1989 or so. I'm wondering if it's just traditional?
its not that bad, these rules are intended to keep the **** heads out that want to run the show their way. these rules are not that much different from any other event. remember people this is not a CAR SHOW it is a concert/tattoo convention/car show at least 10 times the work of just a car show. if you want to bring your own booze get drunk and fight this is not the place for you. if you want to see some great music watch the freak show and enjoy some cars then this may be the place for you. as for the price i have always been dead set against charging for car entries and will no longer support this event if that happens. but you are not paying to enter your car you are paying for the concert and tattoo portion of the show if you do not want to be there do not go. i do not remember the last car show i went to that was anywhere near this size that did not charge me to drive my car in and as a car owner i was the show. this is not a parking lot show it is a huge event with huge overhead every car that comes in without charging the people in it comes right out of the promoters pocket. how may of you work for free?
How much does it cost to get your car in the show for one day with one p***enger? The website confused me on that one.
If I can get 'er to run good enuf, I'll be bringin' my baby. Fresh out of storage for the last several years. Yeah... Finally got my shi* together again. Lol. If she wont make it, I'll be there friday anyway. *Yes I know I posted this on the other thread, but it's THAT big of a deal to me, cause this is my first car. Built 'er 15 years ago man!* -GothY-
No professional cameras? What are they calling a professional camera? I shoot a canon 20 d...am I in the clear?
Ah yes, the Behavior Police. Life is about choices. You still have the freedom to choose to attend or not - or don't the organizers allow it - ya know - NO choosin. Yep we'll take your money to line our pockets and then we'll dictate what you can do (nothing) and what we determine is unacceptable (everything). You spent how much to build that? Well, gee thanks for allowing us to make money off your investment and charging you for the honor of allowing you to attend in return for a significant financial contribution. Oh yeah and we don't want you to bring your own food and drinks because we have promised the concession stands, in return for more lovely money, that they can big time price gouge you. Now where did I put that entry form?
Uh, you disagree with the policy but are promoting it? Are we to believe 100% of attendees only care about tats and rockabilly -- and the car show is just a big circle jerk for the car owners (with a handful of trophies donated by others, no less)? What's the event name again? Ink and ... ? Don't try to justify it saying the tat artists pay, cause if they do it's just for the opportunity to make $$ during the show. So I guess the band members pay to get in, then?
Instead of a laundry list of rules, just make everyone sign a waiver at the gate saying that they won't sue if anything happens, and the show is not responsible for anything that goes down. Then get some off duty cops to hang around....
Are those YOUR rules, or were all of them imposed by the city? I ask, because the rule about no professional cameras and no video cameras means they are actively keeping the press out, which, if one wanted to push it, is completely uncons***utional. They simply can not keep the press out of an event at a public venue. As a freelance writer and photographer, I found that rule very interesting. If someone really wanted to take it and run with it, they might think the cops don't want any witnesses for any heavy-handed actions. I mean, at least with the other rules, you can see that they're just living by the Nanny State Play Book, not wanting people to hurt themselves or others, but what purpose can there be to keep out professional photographers? -Brad
Hahah that show ****s... A tattoo show/Car show where supposed there is this "I'm a bad *** scenester vibe to it with nobody getting outta line or else, hahah too funny. Weasel...I love your post. If I didn't know any better I would say Jello Biafra wrote that comparo Enjoy yourself within the rules of the reich. Rome
I was un-aware of the whole "RULES" thing! I knew there were gonna be some ,but had no idea about the cameras and such. Don't know the story behind that one. I've gone the last three years and it just keeps getting better and better. My car club organizes the carshow,so I go and just people watch and hang out with my buddies. I'd say 80-85% of the visitors are there for the bands and the tattoo part. The carshow has always been an afterthought. Long Beach and the Queen Mary have so much input, that if we want to keep having the show there,we have to comply with their goofy rules.
That list of rules is standard for many shows, but not usually read by anybody but the participants. Next time you enter the LARS,GNRS,or any of the SEMA events, ask some one if you can read the waiver they give you when you register. Most of those rules are nothing new. The camera one is gonna make it interesting. Are they gonna have "Camera Police"? What's gonna happen if you take a picture with a "professional type"camera? It might have something to do with the magazine photographers who had models climbing on peoples cars last year,WITHOUT permission. Caused quite a stir. That was Anna Marco, from OSR and CKD,fault. I bet it has to do with that. Trace was pretty pissed. He doesn't want guys to worry about their cars getting ****ed up,then not wanting to come back.
I think it's $60.00 for you and your car. or $35.00 for you. you would think they would give ya a break for your car coming in. But from what i understand there new Queen management and they are pretty ********. Trying to make the queen some money i can understand that. She is a really fun ship to get lost on. I'll be riding my bicycle across cause i remember last year the line to cross over was hugeeeee
