I find that when people see you at work(pinstripping),they are more apt to take you seriously and thus give you a shot at their car..

    ALSO ...

Comparing LA Roadsters to Ink & Iron
is like comparing apples to oranges ... :)

Ink n Iron is more of a TATTO show with cars as a side dish ...
where the LA Roadster show is the PREMIER ROADSTER SHOW. :D :D

Both have their own place ( IMHO ) in the car hobby but they will attract different folks and different attitudes.

I saw you and your wife with the cart ...
But after coming west for 2500 miles to be @ the LA Roadster show ...
getting a few lines laid on my 32 roadster was NOT very high on my list. ;)

BUT ... The fact that you are a HAMBER would increase ... my inclination to have you lay a few stripes down ... :) :)

And that's exactly what I did today, while the conversation, and jokes continued. For fellow HAMBster LaGrasta. In a very attitude free environment I might ad. :D

Your last couple sentences took the words right out of my mouth! Thats exactly what I do when someone hands me a flyer, card etc. or puts one in my cars.. There are a lot more things to get worked up about besides a f*cking flyer... seriously

To the OP... Dont let it get to you man.. Attitudes are EVERYWHERE you go these days.. Dont take it too personally, and dont give up either..

On another note, unless one is totally oblivious, the crowd @ Ink-Iron was a lot different than the crowd @ LARS..
I know this might sound lame, but some people might look at Pinstripping as "tattoos" for thier car... Its not for everyone..

I gotta agree that passing out cards for folks to look at isn't going to get you much business. I've seen several stripers at events that will stripe the first car or ?? at a discount rate or for free. When folks see their work, they start getting in line. Until you get a reputation, your skill is what sells. Ya gotta get it out there for people to see.

As far as attitudes go, good folks come in all shapes and sizes, so do assholes. You can't pidgen hole them in any one group, whether it's "roadster driving gold chainers" or "rockabilly scenesters".
