I've been searching, but havent found what I'm looking for.....I have a 1955 customline with the inline 6 (223 i think??) and a three on the tree. I'd like to do dual exhaust and am trying to find what people have done or recommend. I know I wont get the v8 sound I want, without a v8, but right now I dont have the means to do a conversion. So for now I'm just looking for some help to get a better sound out of what I have!! any insight is appreciated...Thanks!

I've got lakes pipes on my 52. They sound alright with the 215. Didn't like the look of them at first but I think they are growing on me

Do you have any pictures of yours? Are they the baffled or straight pipe style?

I had the exhaust manifold split on my 215 6cyl and it sounds great. I've been running them for about 25 years and I love them. The only problem is when you have them made up you have to find someone that can do them right. The last time I had them done I thought I'd take it to a "Proffesional exhaust shop". I kept seeing street rodders take their cars to this place. While at the shop the starter went out and I had towed home so I could repair it. I was so concerned with getting it running I hadn't taken time to look at the exhaust. When I did look at it I got the surprise of my life. They had ran the exhaust pipes under the front suspension instead of through the crossmember and I now have 3 inches of ground clearance! So be sure and check the work before you take it home from the shop!

I like the idea of the split manifold...but that price its definitely rich for my taste!!!... The idea of having them made is good, i just have to find someone local that's good with cast!!!......... And knows where to run the pipes!! What are you guys running for mufflers and pipe size? Thanks for all the quick responses!!!!
