Someone directed me to a Chev. inline six forum. I lost the book mark with a pooter mishap. Can anyone redirect me? Thanks!
I didnt know the Inliners was for Chevies only. I know a lot of them up here. I just thought they lacked imagination ;>) /6 Don
The "Inliners" are into anything INLINE...from 4's to 6's to 8's and even an occasional 5 inarow. A great group of folks!
I've said this before, you're all a bunch of "six maniacs" and "six offenders", and should be shielded from normal society. Oops, I built a six once myself, guess I'm in the catagory also..... Hello, my name's Butch, and I'm a "sixual deviant". Butch/56sedandelivery.

May the 19 I sat in my rail waiting to run for the first time since installing a new cam of my own specs and a new cylinder head I carved out with a grinder, porting to what I percieved now to be about max. In the other lane a Big Blck Chevy with Hilborn stacks thundered away, so loud I could barely hear my own engine. 246 cubes against 468 cubes in similar cars. I thought "Well I will get slaughted but I am still having fun." The starter twitched and I was GONE, quick smooth and clean. The big Chevy burped and burbled and when he finally got it pulling I was long past the finishline. Chalk that one to luck. Next run we didnt get a clean start. I thought the starter flinched but it might have been a fly bothering him. I left and the big chevy left about a foot behind. The little six pulled a big hole between us midrange before the Big block began his top end charge. However it came way too late I was already past the finishline with a narrow win. Last run of the day I did not get a good start. In my excitement I left the foot switch for my line lock pressed for about 3 or 4 feet. That was all the big Chev needed and he ran me down about 7/8 of the way down the 1/4 mile. If you think that isnt fun, running a competitor with similar weight and chassis with an engine not much bigger then 1/2 his and everything in it made or done by yourself , then you dont know what fun is. I have had some V8s , a 426 hemi, some very very successful 440s but I have never had so much fun as with this toy I built in my retirement. Low cost, hi fun. So far I have got more back out of this project then I ever intended or dreamed. Try a six, You'll like it I am sure.
