Hi guys....just wanted to share some great news.....I Drive Leo Santucci's 1954 Studebaker, with an injected, turbo in line 6 (292) and on October 17 , At epping dragway, we went 9.80 at 135, to break all door car 6 cyl records ( in the chevy vintage Inliner world)....Leo has been chasing that 9 second pass for many years,,,,I am so happy for him and his super dedicated wife Terry....and I sure am blessed to be driving such a cool car....We are going to Island this Sunday with the bigger turbo and bigger nozzles.....wish me luck....

( old prototype cross flow heads) xderelict This head your talking about Is Hybread Head Made up of two V8 heads. which Takes alot of work to build. Also there is much Block work that has to be done to use it. You also Now have to build your own Intake & exhaust. Plus you have to Make New side lifters cover Because the Push rods are now out side the block. And it takes a custom head gasket. But it is one killer set-up :)

    Congratulations.
Pics of the car and details on the motor would be great.

I'll second that (several engine close-ups would be nice - sounds very cool!). Congrats on bombing your goal by two tenths! And good luck this weekend - I'll be watching this space for news...
I'm a lifelong inliner fan, finally getting close to joining in the fun...Until then, I'll keep watching from a respectful distance...

Excellent, congrats on the pass, was it more power, or did you come up with more traction to make it there? Or is that posted already at inliners? Either way, more pictures would be great. Good luck at Island.

I sure wish I could say it was just one thing that made the difference...we had run 10. 0 "s more than once this year....then I suggested a big change....gear....went from 3.50 to 3.73....and at the same time....we changed to a 10 inch 3000 stall converter....those two changes took us to 9.95 off the trailer....then being the gready driver that I am.....on the next two passes I threw away the 2500 leave theory....raised the launch rpm to 3000...went 9.90.....then really got after it....raised the launch to 4000 rpm....and went 9.84......and got gready one more time....let er rip from the firewall on the tranny brake....and sprayed the intercooler....9.80 with a one ......and I was still lookin for more motor at the 1000 foot mark.....seems to still be lean......so look out Island ....here we come.....with a new...Bigger.....tune up.....this engine seems to really love more fuel....and a harder leave........so out the window goes common sence....and here come bigger nozzles and more boost....

The hat on top of the throttle body looks restrictive.

Is that because of clearance problems with the hood ?

Actually....That is gone ....there is a tilt glass nose on the car now(those pictures are about 2 years old) and there is a much smoother set up on there now that sticks out of the hood....and there is a bigger head....and longer rod....and different driver....and well you get the picture...I will try to put newer pictures up when I get home tonight.

    Over 1000 hp,with 2 bolt mains.

Never did understand the idiots insisting a 4 bolt block
is necessary for a mild street motor.
