My 1953 Chevy Wagon is ready for exhaust and I started pricing a system at local shops. They are proud of their work for sure and I am NOT sure how satisfied I would be with their work. Also looked into buying u-bends and fabing the exhaust but at $35.00 per u-bend I lost interest fast.So I started thinking about all of the stainless exhaust laying around the junk yard and decided to just make my own.We cut the flange from the mid pipe that connects to the catalytic converter .It will go over the cross member on the right side so it will have to separate to get it out in case of any repairs. I had to route the exhaust down the right side because of the frame mount brake booster and was not able to run out at the bumper because of the gas tank.I do not have any idea what the resonator came from but it does sound sweet! I spent the last few Saturday's working on this exhaust and with the help from my friend Big Steve,it was an easy deal. What do you guys think? We just took stainless 90's and 45's from the junk pipe and made the exhaust for free.
Sounds good to me. I'm getting ready to make an exhaust for my '55 King Of Trucks. I thought about buying one of those kits with a bunch of bends in them. I'd have never thought of cutting out stainless bends from the junkyard. Thanks for the great ideer!
