Ok, my spirited driving with a warmed up flathead with a non- WC T5 from an S-10 knocked out my 2nd transmission. I promise not to do that again....
But, heres the problem. I bought them back when they were cheap, now the price has skyrocketed.
Does anyone know for sure wither a later year S -10 (with the built on bell housing) internals will fit into the older cases?
I have both the cable and electric speedo style transmissions.
The later model integral bell housing transmissions in my area is at least a thousand dollars cheaper than the older ones. Actually cheaper than a bearing kit and a couple parts!

I'm reasonably sure the internals in the trans with the built in bell housing are different from the Borg Warner T5.

    No such thing.

The transmission with the built in bellhousing is not a T5.

    That's a New Venture Gear Corporation 3500, or NV-3500.

There are no useful interchange parts.
