Hi guys. Hope all is doing fine. Earlier this week the Ford went through road worth inspection and is ready for another year. Nonetheless, the inspector told me she is braking a bit on the poor side at the rear, so this weekend I'm gonna dis***emble the drums to check it out. You may have seen over the years that members have converted their brakes to self adjusting, turns out that the 1967 F-100 pickups use the same rear brake shoes as your '56 does #55s, here are the adjuster kits. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...+hub,drum+brake+self+adjuster+repair+kit,1904
I’m a believer in rebuilding your own wheel cylinders. It’s an easy job with the proper diameter cups which is really all that’s needed. The steel backs and expansion spring are rarely in bad condition. It’s rare today to find USA made parts.
