I have a Chevy with factory Saginaw three speed and Overdrive. I have a NOS Ansen floor shifter for that particular car. It appears the overdrive solenoid is going to prevent bolt-in mounting. Any tips on the modifications required to make this fit? This certainly can't be the first time for a modification like this. Thank you for your assistance/ideas.
I've got to ask the year of the trans. Anything 65 and newer will be a SAGINAW; before that they were MUNCIES, that most people, for some reason, call Saginaws. A Saginaw will also be FULL synchro. As far as parts, Little Wing and Satin Herself both deal in HURST shifter mounts and I know they've had the mounts for overdrive floor shift conversions. So, you may have to go with a HURST, and put the ANSEN on the shelf. IF your trans is in fact a 3-speed SAGINAW with overdrive, it's worth some $ as it can be used to convert a Saginaw 4-speed into a 4-speed with overdrive. No way of fabbing something up? Is the trans still in a car? Butch/56sedandelivery.
this is in my 63 Biscayne, and I drive it very often. Column shifter and linkage are getting worn and I figure it would be cool to convert to a floor shift.
