I have a 1946 IH K2, and would like to install a shoulder belt in the cab. Problem I see, is the nut would need to be right in the middle of the deep curve of the cab, not by the door post. I was thinking large plate hammer formed to match the curve, weld a nut on it, slip it down the inside of the cab, line it up to a drilled hole and use a bolt to tighten the plate to the cab, drill a couple holes and spot weld together. Hope this makes sense, but should this be sufficient?
Take a look at the kits from Julian or Mid Fifty F100 for an idea. If I understand your question it will give you the answer. Good luck
If you make a backing plate make sure it has rounded corners and I would bevel the side that faces the seat belt side.
I used the mid fifty kit, works great. You may have to fab your own. http://www.midfifty.com/item.php?INV_ID=1082
