yep somebody that has done it?? the inspection here in sweden didnt like it on my 196- f100 so I orderd a new one (440dollar) in sweden and a new rubber seal from dennis carpenter the mounting instruction "57-72" in the gasket package from carpenter sad to mount the crome on the rubber before mounting the rubber on the glass..impossible...the info in the 6-shop manual sas to mount the rubber on the glass then put on the crome before putting it in the truck...also impossible nothing works or is I totally wrong out doing it?? ideas?? changes windshield on volvo trucks all the time...but they do not have cromestrip... regards stig
Difficult to be certain without pictures of your specific parts, but my experience with gaskets using a chrome trim strip in the middle is to mount the gasket on the glass & instal the trim strip. Wrap a strong string completely around in the exterior channel. Use the string to pull the inside rubber over the metal lip or pinchweld. Works best with 2 guys so one can push in from the outside while the other pulls the string.
This is the way I do it too.Some cars and trucks are harder than others,but it isn't impossible.Put it on the glass first and then add the chrome.If it don't work,put the chrome in and then the glass.You can do it.I have seen what you guys from Sweden do,you are all born body men.
