    Or three.

Thats such a nice car... when are you going to bring it to the states so we can all see it in person? What are you going to do for the interior? White with red piping?

  5. quick 'lick' over lunch.....32 'comercial' headlights, h/light bar, lettering.

The only thing that would top it off (for me) would be a 'crown' or diamond painted on the radiator (ie similar to what devil rod has on his roadster).

Gotta run before the 'NET police' get me....:D

    Cheers,

    Drewfus:)

  6. Beatiful job.

Dunno if you've done a fire up of a flattie before, but that thing is so pretty I can't help but offer the following advice before you fire it up.

1 - You've tapped the back of your block for full flow, make sure you have some form of sealant on those threads, liquid, teflon, etc.

2 - Thread seal the thermometers you have in the top of your head.

3 - Thread seal your fuel block on all threads and where the fuel line enters the carb.

4 - Those nice chrome radiator hose angles will pop out of their rubber hoses if you don't rough up the metal surface where the metal is inside the hose. The metal is too smooth.

    5 - Retourque the heads

6 - When you fill the radiator for the first time you're gonna need some way to let the air out of the top of the heads, else the air pressue will not allow fluid into the engine (the thermostats will be closed). I just loosen each thermometer until about 3.5 to 4 gallons have been poured in. Sometimes I just wait until the coolant starts to leak out the loosened thermostats and hurry up and tighten them.

7 - Check your lower radiator hoses for tightness.

8 - Check your oil drain plug

9 - Check your radiator drain plug.

That's it on my list. Don't mean to sound condescending at all. I just spent a lot of time dressing up my flathead only to have (almost) all the above bite me.

    Again, great job!

  8. Hey Mike....dunno but I have all the things in that list covered. I appreciate you mean well and thanx for the tips.

Hey, Ive even drilled one 1/8" hole in each thermostat to "burp" the system and enable the coolant to get into ALL the block.

Everything has been teflon sealed, the rad hoses have "lips" to stop the hoses sliding off too.

Have checked all plugs too...been there done that !!

Heads will be retorqued when it cools down after first firing, and then torqued again after subsequent firings....

Hey Drewfus I should send you a side shot to get thoe numbers on the door....maybe in black !!
