Don't worry most hearse have 2 doors only. Then again it's not like you would be able to protest
I have a station wagon that I converted to 2 doors and a daily 4dr wagon, the rear doors are really convenient to retrieve stuff from the cargo area without having to crawl on all 4, even loading heavy item is so much easier with 4 doors.

 

I still like mine.

 

I no longer judge a car before seeing it over the fact it has 4 doors. There’s more than a few posted in this thread I would drive the wheels off of. The black 55 Chevy defiantly has “the look” for me.

 

I wrote this "tongue in cheek" shooting for reactions. I've owned several early 60s Chryslers with 4 doors and have no bias against 4 door cars. Thanks for the responses.

Your Ford is cool and no offense intended but, I like the Stinson AT-19 one door better .

 

When the wife calls and asks you to swing by Lowes for some mulch while you're out and about... having 4 doors (and a trunk) is very nice!

 

Yeah, all that time wasted learning how to "shoot the boots" if you can't get out of the back seat.

 

Even better, remove the front handles and leave the rears.

My 4 door already has suicide doors, but they're on the front doors! So my car has what was called "saloon doors". But I still removed the exterior rear door handles and welded the holes up before painting the car. A lot of people are surprised when I reach inside and open the rear doors. Many comment they didn't notice it was a 4 door. But even if they notice, I still don't care. I like it just as it is, but I would like the wider entry on the front suicide doors that the 2 door model had.

 

Man that's a neat car! I had a '58 Belvedere sedan back in the early 2000s. I wish I had never sold it. Almost impossible to find anymore, and when you do, big $$ even for a lowly four door.

 

I still miss the 61 Chevy and 61 LeSabre. The 55 is my current daily. I do love coupes and 2drs, but nothing beats an old 4dr as a daily.

So if you have a crew cab car, you're driving a parts car or are an old woman or a nerd. But, if you have a 4 door truck & a mullet, you're awesome? You guys should listen to yourselves.

Buy a 55/56 Buick 4 door hardtop and most guys and gals never noticed that it was a 4 door but your buddy's girlfriend thought it was great that she didn't have to climb into the back seat but could open the door and sit down . With the engine out of a super in it it was a bit of a sleeper too.

 

My only 4 door is a driver, ex police ford v8-85 powered 1938 standard that I upgraded with 1939 hydraulic brakes.

All my others cars are 2 doors and I DO prefer them but still enjoy driving this car and my kids like the rear suicide doors.

You couldn’t give me a four door truck new or old. My mullet was cut off 30+ years ago.

EDIT: since this post i bought an old four door truck as my work truck.

Can't remember where I saw it, but someone is supplying all the parts and pieces to convert tri five Chevy's from 4 door to 2 doors.
