Instigator over the years

At my first house in San Mateo, 1972...

 

Took the hot rod to our Friday Night Gathering last night,
next town over in Concord....

 

Ran much better with tunnel ram than the cross ram!

I'm smilin' right now just thinking about it...

 

A friend of mine, Tom, worked at 50/50 Muffler in Burlingame, Ca.
I rented a room out to him for a year or so.
He was buddies with Fred Sanderson [Sanderson Headers].
So Fred built me some tuned headers for the 30, great deal.
Later years I wanted chrome ones [they make a car a lot faster],
so I gave the headers to another friend of mine for his 34 Ford pickup
and bought new one's from Fred again [out the back door/what a deal]...

 

I would imagine that is what we looked like.
Except the beard

We took the wife's 34 to our Friday Night Gathering last night...
she got a lot of thumbs up driving there and back...

 

The shops I spent a lot of time [and $] at, now gone.
End of an era.

My friend Brian took these shots decades ago in San Francisco,
back then the locals all went to Al's Automotive in Brisbane for straight axle installations and lift bars.

Too bad it's not April Fools day,
would have said I stuck my 30 body on a monster truck chassis and got some air.

We tried a new location for our Friday Night Gatherings in 2013 .
This was at Dickie's, ended up going back to the Sun Valley Mall anyway.

I was a member of Byron's Gasser Madness, the "leader" was Byron Stack.
Club also known as Gas F/X.
Unfortunately Byron has passed away a while ago however he came to our house to visit in 2008.
I'm 5'9 and 1/2" tall, you can see how tall he was, 6' something and yet I got him to squeeze into my 30 pickup.
What a good sport....
