Whooops........I just accidently shorted out the constant-voltage unit on my 63 Galaxie cluster, are these like a resistor, or do I need to find another just like it?

Should be able to buy a new one at NAPA for around $30.00, called a constant voltage regulator. No they're not like a resistor.
