One of my customers has wrecked his custom He is needing a estimate for the insurance. I am needing to know if the estimate needs to be like a collision estimate (damage and refinish quoted in hrs) or like I charge for restorations and fab. by the hour. Please excuse my lack of knowledge in this area. I do bodywork for a living and do resto's and custom at night to build a customer base for my own shop. I am wanting to know what to expect out of the ins. co. and what the ins expects out of me estimate wise. I have done estimates for collision and have the software for that and have worked with regular ins. co. out of my side shop. so that is not new to me. Any help will be apprecited.
on classic cars for collision i usualy do 100 an hour for body repair and 150 an hour for paint..... i have never had a insurance company question it..... and make it out hourly if ya go over send in a supliment.....
Jeezes! And I've had trouble getting work at $20 per hour - with 30+ years exp. in building customs, & doing custom fiberglass & paint work. Why does my life suck soooo much? ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver" A day without sunshine is like, night.
