Hey everyone, I've been looking for a good insurance company to insure my 3100. American collectors won't allow the insured to have under ten years of driving experience. Any suggestions for us younger rodders who want a decent coverage of their ride? Thanks for you input. Joe
Nope, I had the same problem 10 years ago when I was that age...I ended up going through my normal (state farms) car carrier for classic ins....not good coverage but did the trick until I turned 25
Never heard of speciality insurance way back when I was your age. Not sure what teh age limits are BUT I would check with both of these companies....in this order www.grundy.com www.hagerty.com No matter who you get your insurance from right now, the BEST thing you can do for yourself right now is to keep your foot outta it, use your head when driving and refrain from "collecting" moving violations.
I have State Farm insurance on both of my old cars and I am under 25. It is under classic car insurance and not having any trouble.
i also have state farm, but i never got classic insurance. i always just insured it like a normal car with full coverage, then they would ask me the value of the car. if i told them a number that they were unsure about they would send out an appraiser. its worked for 4 cars now and nothing newer then 74. also i have it for my 72 triumph motorcycle, and have 6 grand worth of coverage for that. just like a normal new bike.
My mom is an insurance broker, and I pay all my own insurance. If its your daily driver, insure it as you would any other car. I have two cars I have to pay for, and im 18, and I live in New York. THAT SUCKS.
$70 for 6 months. wow. ive got $50 a month and i thought i was getting a deal. im not with state farm, im just with some nock off insurance but its just liability.
I have my 48 chevy insured with state farm classic car insurance for $36.50 every six months at $5,500. Im 27 now and I've had it insured for at least 3 years. My volkswagen , 51 chevy 3100, and 57 chevy are also insured with classic car insurance for $34.50 every six months for 2500-4500 each.
