I have used Hagerty for the last seven years with no problems ,very nice to deal with ,spend the extra money for Hagerty plus to get superior towing service.....
I have Grundy, Underwritten by Infinity. Ford has been a good friend for many years. He insures both my Brothers cars. I couldn't get good mileage policy from Ford so I went with Grundy. Do your homework, get what you need, ask questions and read policy when you get it. By the way, Ford sold his Classic Car insurance business a few weeks ago. http://www.theledger.com/article/20160303/news/160309763?p=3&tc=pg
recently renewed full policy on my Ford, American National was 60% of what I pay Hagerty for basically the same coverage. No claim experience with either.
I have agreed value on my Ford with Hagerty and can drive 3000 miles per year. I sent my agent pictures and they had some initial reservations since the car was in primer, but that blew over. My agent, she asked me 4 times if the engine was a racing engine. Of course I said no, she asked the size and I said 355, not stating what engine it was. I guess they have charts they go by, so its called a 352 by them. The whole thing runs me around $370 per year.
American National here. So far, so good. Agent came out, inspected, we drove around the block, agreed value coverage, and the deal was done. Cheap, compared to what I pay for our dailies. Includes coverage for parts and tools in the garage, too. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I have used Condon Skelly for the past 20 years. They are pleasant to deal with. I have not had to make any claims, so I cannot report on how they would be on handling claims.
AAA Collector Car for my 56 and AAA regular car and house too. I does pay to bundle. If you to place a value of $50K make it $49,999 and save..
From my previous post I have 4 cars with Grundy but when I called them to insure my 32 highboy pu they declined so I went to Hagerty where they insured the truck but the premium was raised when I said I planned to drive the truck? I now have a 32 five window that needs insurance and am wondering what to do?
Call some agents, shop around. Tell them what you want insured. Consider moving your house and DD policies as well. The specialty insurance is sometimes seen as a way for the agent to get in the door to sell you other policies as well, so use that to your advantage. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Shannons down here, one minor claim and good to deal with. I've full laid up on the project and pay monthly.
Hagerty has informed clients, at least here in Canada, that you car is not covered if it is on a hoist, private or commercial. Warren
i don't have any high-buck collector cars, so i use aarp. agreed value, $100/year. of course, there are mileage restrictions.
We use Grundy, we have four hotrods insured and we pay under 900 bucks a year. We have no milage limitations. I drive my cars regularly, some just about daily, others once or twice a week. No claims.. No complaints...
