    Hi Guys

New to the COE forum, but a regular poster over on the main board in the "Bangers" and the "'28 four cylinder Chevy's" threads.

My question is about insurance. For 15 years I have had a Iveco Z-100 cab over. I know, you're thinking Jap junk--Wrong!!!---Italian junk!

It really is a pretty good truck, 5 cylinder Deutz aircooled, 9K GVW but I stopped running it about 5 years ago because the insurance costs got so high. My regular insurance would only write commercial policy, even though the truck was only used for personal stuff. Explained to them that it got less than 1000 miles on it most years, but still no go. Agent, (who we have had for 25+ years --looked at it and said that it was too big to put on our car policy. Other agents said "it's a stake body" one said "it has dual rear wheels" while it was parked next to a Chev 1 ton dualey. Asked it he would put the Chev on a car policy--answered yes. I said that it had the same number of wheels, and the same GVW --- "But it's a pickup" was the answer. Can't get antique tags for a large truck in Pennsylvania unless the vehicle is 50+ years old--and it's an"81.

    What do you guys do?
