Greetings fellow hambers, what are you fellows opinions on the relationship of intake air temperature and horsepower production in ballpark figures,( I know colder and dryer is usually better) but for example if air temp. Is droped from 140 degrees to 90 degrees in a 500 h.p. Motor how much increase can I generally look for?....thanks in advance , I know there are some darn smart hambers!

There are other things in play besides temperature drop. When air is cooler it becomes more dense and the fuel to air ratio changes. You might pick up about 5HP on a carbureted engine until the ignition timing and lean mixture gets too far out of range.
With a modern computer controlled fuel injection engine where it can change the mixture and timing you might get a 10HP improvement.
