When your 3.0 Ford was only made for E F I you have to machine your own intake and marry two distributors to get advance.
Some folks don't like EFI. I personally think it's fine on my wife's late models, but not on my old cars. Then again, I'm not to keen on using engines that came with EFI, either....
If you are like me EFI is outside my learning curve. So I converted the yellow one above to Hilborn parts so that I could understand what I was doing. It went 231 in 2000 in Jack's 'liner. F/FS record for a year. You can't ask for a dumber intake for an engine that has no aftermarket support. Easy to make. And it's yours. The OP built what he wanted and should be commended for that.
What's the deal on the steering column in the first post, some kind of spring-loaded collapsible setup?
The steering column is the original T ford. The springs are on the rods that were for the spark advance and throttle. I wired it for E F I but could not keep it running unless the air intake tube was disconnected. I am more a carb. man. I think rods look neat with a carb. I always build off the wall things. I have a 1906 Ford model N I built from a picture I took at Henry's museum And three years later I had a driver with a Merc. cruiser boat engine and an automatic tranny. Everything else is all original parts. All different years.
