Does anyone know anybody thats running an intake like this? it is for a 60 hp flathead and What is it worth??
I was told they were used on midget cars with 60hp engines. I would beleive that it is pretty rare but i dont know.
The intake is made for those carbs. There is no spacers the intake has BELMONT casted into it at one end. you can see that in the picture. Does anyone know about belmont intakes?
i have'nt got the foggiest idea what it is but i'd be interested in owning just because it looks so neat. garage art!
Wow! another holy grail set-up...the Winfields typically go for $250 to $350 a piece. That intake is something I've never seen. Either run a very rare set-up or as it has been said...cash out large! Very neat piece regardless.
I may be wrong but that sure looks like a propane setup to me.There are some old propane carbs at work that look like those. I work on forkllifts for a living. Billy
Hey. Send a PM to 4port.... He knows a lot about that vintage v860 stuff. I'll call him and tell him to watch for this post...
ebay will block your reply [in that case] they have complete scan of all transaction related emails now-- that is a hi dollar peice for sure.
"Damn"..., Did you get that in the coupe deal...??? Didn't you say you got tri-carb setup as well...? Man..., that's one hell of a score...!
I talked to Speedy Bill Smith today he said that the intake was made in Chicago. and they ran these intake carb set ups on Speed boats and midget cars. He didnt know the exact date of it but said he thought between 1937 to 1941 or 1946 to early 50s. And he thinks this type was on a midget car. Bill is a great man to talk to. he knows quite a bit of info and was very helpful.and didnt seem to mind talking to me and sharing some of his automotive history with a young guy.
