I need someone with an old Holland Interchange book or somthing to that nature. I am looking for an axle shaft out of a 1956 Ford Ranchwagon. It is a DANA 44, it is a 19 spline axle at 58 1/8th inch's long from tip to stud flange. The regular p*** cars and trucks had the Ford 8 inch rear-end and will not work. I know DANA 44 came in everything from Jeep's, Willy's, Dodge's and on and on. I need to know what other axle will fit this rear-end. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. My Hollander says....52-56 axles from sedan deliveries, station wagons and police cars interchange as well as 52-54 Mercury wagon and 55-56 Thunderbird. It also says the housing is 55-56 Ford wagon, sedan delivery and police only.

Thanks for the info Ratmotor. Today was the first time I had even heard of those books in a yard not far from here. The old guy took me in the back and had a moutain of them but nothing old enough to get that info.
