Good morning to all 235 gear-heads! My question is...can I use a 53 head off a 235 on a 50 235 block? I bought a mild performance cam, lifter, and push-rod set of Patrick's and knowing the valves are larger on the 53's this would also help performance. lower end was recently redone to so not worried about extra power just compatibility. Any comments are appreciated. Bob

Yeah, there was a mix and match of 216 and 235 in those years, the first 235s still babbit pounders but I think the bore spacing was the same. It might make a difference if it was hydraulic or solid lifter engine.
