This is in this Facebook Group "Ford Customline & Mainline Nation 52,53,54." He posted several pictures but more are coming here are two of them. He is putting a 2.3 and T-5 in. The headers do fit without issues but they are off awaiting the mini-starter.
Should be a cool build. I've got a little bit of experience with those. 2.3 Turbo/T5/8"rear in the roadster. 300+hp and 30 mpg. It scoots!
Jeff, do you have a link to his posts in the Ford Customline & Mainline Nation 52,53,54 Facebook group? I couldn't find it (but then again, I don't use Facebook much).
I knew a guy that installed an SVO Ford fuel injected 2.3L in his 65 or 66 Mustang. He claimed he had as much power as the original 289 but got around 30 mpgs with it. It was a very clean installation with the intercooler and all the other***** that came with the engine.
The '54 is now running and driving on the road, the 2.3 & T-5 replaced the 223 Six hoping to get additional build pictures of the mounts.
Here are pictures of the motor mounts that were fabricated, I also have pictures on file of the T-5 transmission cross member that had to be fabricated on file if anyone doing this swap is interested.
Darn it, I thought it was turbo'd! It's a naturally aspirated 2.3. They're 85hp from the factory, 150hp if you put a bunch of money into it. Judging from the pics, he's probably 125-150hp. 2.3 turbo's are 200hp from the factory. Basic bolt-on stuff will get you high 200 to low 300hp. Unlimited funds and machine work and the sky's the limit. I've seen guys pull 1200hp outta one! Not bad for a motor with the cubic inch displacement of a large Pepsi bottle! The factory mounts are just a flat plate bolted to the block. I ran 2"x2" square tubing off the side of my frame rails in the roadster with a round, flat plate on top. Once installed, I realized I needed a little more ground clearance so I added a 1" spacer to the plate.

Sorry Jeff, the first link I have to laugh at. Chinese turbos that are held together with glue and unbalanced impellers that grenade at 20K rpm! The second link though.....the Ecoboost is a beast! They can produce serious power with unmatched durability. But $6K? I'm just 'ol school' like you brother! I'm cheap too. I got my shortblock off Ebay built by MDS Racing engines in Texas for $1200 shipped. A $700 BoPort head, T3 turbo from the junkyard and $500-$600 in miscellaneous stuff to get where I'm at. Most everyone nowadays is going with MAF but I'm running speed density. I've got about 5K miles on the engine without any problems at all.
