Model A 'gasser' owned by Frank Maratta of Hartford CT. Frank ran a well known body shop I think on Hudson St in Hartford.
He also owned and operated Connecticut Dragway in East Haddam CT.
Franks infamous 'Pink Beast' was shown on one of the early magazine covers as the 'East' car for East vs West.
The Beast was said to have half a oil drum of lead on it!

Makes me beg the question-Why don't more cars/trucks run full moons?

 

i used to see that truck almost every day. Before 19th ave became the 92 freeway it had a real steep grade crossing at the SP tracks. It hit the exhaust going over and he wouldn't keep going. It was rush hour and everybody was upset behind him. He just held up his finger and said "Back up" It was pretty cool for a kid like me.
