Some mid-fifties MOPAR V8's had a 2 BBL carburetor like that; bolt pattern like a 4 BBL, but just a 2 BBL. Hudson probably used the same kind of carb.

125 bucks! Jeez that's cheap. Wouldn't have to salvage much to part that out for a profit. Crying shame what happened to it, that was a cool car.

If that were in Wisconsin, you'd have to beat me to it! I have a 54 already but I really like this era Rambler, and bonus it's a wagon.

I’d leave the leaning tower of power in it just because and drive the piss out of it

That was the plan but I got side tracked by other projects and just lost interest in this one. I was surprised by the amout of people that the slant pisses off. It is more than if I LS swapped it.

I had a Slant Six in my 74 Duster that I built using everything I could find from Direct Connection with a 600 Holley, split headers and 4speed. Whenever I pulled into a lot and someone didn’t already know the car they would ask me if I had a 340 in it. :D

What you get is a drivable 75 year old shoebox Ford with:

    1. 36 year old flame paint job that has a few issues and needs rubbing out
    2. a body with finished flared radiused wheel wells...and dings and bruises
    3. seven year old Coker BIG-n-little radial wide whites
    4. rounded hood and door corners and molded-in 1954 Buick grille
    5. finished 4 inch chop with finished chopped window moldings and glass
    6. frenched head and tail lights - shaved hood, deck, doors, and rear fender beads
    7. bear claw door latches that need new solenoids
    8. electric windows that need new channels
    9. dressed up Ford 390 FE V8 that runs, but needs work
    10. nearly new 2 1/2 inch duals with X-pipe and Flowmasters (?)
    11. aluminum radiator with SPAL fan
    12. battery in trunk, electric 2spd wipers, but no heater/defroster
    13. C6 tranny that shifts great, but leaks
    14. 9 inch rear end with 4-bar and coil suspension
    15. vented front disc brakes and dual master cylinder
    16. stock bench seats with original factory vinyl/leather
    17. clean Oregon title in my name
    18. traditional "hot rod" look (black with red flames, BIG-n-littles)

...built in Portland in 1978...in the 2019 Portland Roadster Show

    $10,000 firm (I don't need to sell...serious only....no trades)

Want more info/history or photos, just ask for Ray

PS I know of a local fresh 428 FE for low cash if you buy the car
