Breaking the rules a little, this is on the bay. Someone way back when made a waterfall for their hot rod using Pontiac gauges. Pretty nifty.

  7. I am kind of breaking the rule a little bit because this is my car but yesterday afternoon I came to the conclusion I'm over breaking my knuckles for the Kaiser, I got a good vision for the car but I really don't want to do the work for the car I would rather concentrate my time and money on my banger project.
Anyways I'm selling In 1953 Kaiser Manhattan and a 1951 parts car for two grand but for a HAMB person I was sell both for $1,500... The 1953 car is pretty complete but it's definitely a project everything will need to be gone through before it can become a driver It's probably been parked since the 1960s in Gene Winfield's (yes that Gene Winfield) backyard. I think it is missing a few pieces of trim like the trunk emblem the hood emblem and unfortunately the radiator. The car turns over but it doesn't run I got all the valves functioning correctly and put a new head gasket on it and cleaned everything up I can almost get it to fire up but the carburetor is so shot I can't really get it to regulate the fuel and doing it with a squirt can I'm not doing real well... I am sure if I would have put a little more effort into it I probably could have got it running but That's not going to happen. Anyways here's the link...

For the record to anyone reading this I got a Facebook account a few weeks ago just because of this page and seeing all the good deals that come up on marketplace... I'm so addicted to junk.

@Atomic Reverend Alexander That's a heck of a deal. I hope they go to a good home.
I talked about focus, I hope your banger gets attention and makes you happy.

Stick a hose on the end of a propane torch and jam it down the carb throat.

    It'll fire...

  12. My biggest downfall is I can see whatever I am going to work on already finished in my head not really equating how many hundreds of dollars or thousands of hours worth of time it will take... I would imagine that is probably the same problem most guys have on this site.. Then I get about halfway through the project and then I find a smoking deal on something else that I don't need and next thing you know I got three or four projects all going at the same time That all require a vast amount of money and time. The Kaiser is no different, I actually really like the Kaiser and I want to do a 1954 ish mild custom like a young guy would have did back then but as my ad states that car needs everything and the reality is it'll take a few hundred hours just to get it to where I can drive it and there's probably another hundred hours just to do the bodywork and shave a few things just to put a rustoleum spray gun paint job on it and at the end of the day it's still a four-door Kaiser that I have no use for. That is mainly the reason why I'm selling it, I still think it's cool in its own weird goofy kind of way but I have a four-door Continental I don't need a four-door Kaiser I don't even have kids and currently I'm single there's no reason for me to have a bunch of family sedans but I digress.
My goal now is to have The banger driving around the neighborhood hopefully by June or July I mean it's not real complicated it's pretty much a stock model A with hydraulic brakes, The only thing I'm trying to figure out is if I really want to run that Hupmobile body, I've got most of the parts to make the chassis a driver It's just spending the time to rebuild everything before it goes on the chassis. All those little task where you got to clean the rust off then rebuild it and paint it really add up on the time, when I started this project I told myself I was going to leave everything scuzzy but I just can't do it I feel like a rat rodder, I like shiny stuff or if it's patinaed it needs to be earned patina like a 70-year-old truck that has wear and tear but overall it has character... On the "Fupp' I am even doing it on the cheap using a paintbrush on the frame because I'm trying to make it authentic to like 1940 So I want there to be brush strokes but it's still time consuming. I want to add the performance stuff that I've bought also but I want to do that later that way I can actually see if there's any significant improvements, The only thing I haven't located yet is a high compression head but that's another story.
Outside of The on topic project I still have a few more, I want to do a off topic 1973 Lincoln Continental that I've had since I was a teenager (I think I have been with that car for about 30 years now), The car isn't really my style necessarily but I had a lot of good times in that car back of my late teens and twenties and now that I'm approaching my late 40s I want to drive my time machine again and thankfully I never sold it. I want to fix all the hokey stuff I did when I was a young guy and reverse all the damage I did to it by making it a daily driver that not only was a commuter, but a pickup truck, an off-road vehicle and pretty much every other form of abuse that a young guy could give a big block luxury car... I've got the new engine installed in that one and I've got most of the interior done I just got to put it all together. Once I get those two cars doneish where I can actually drive them I'm going to switch my focus back to the Model A truck that is slowly making me bankrupt but money is somewhat irrelevant on that one I've had this vision in my head what I want since I was 12 years old (think 1961 SoCal cruise scene style) My only regret on that car is not starting the project when I was 15 years old back when you have lots of motivation to have a cool car.
Now I just got to keep myself focused The problem is just as an example I saw a Volkswagen manx a couple of days ago and now I really want to scratch that itch too, Plus I got a boogie van itch, and a Model T C cab itch That is starting to fester lol.
I always say I need to win the lottery but the reality is if I did that I think it would take the fun out of this a little bit I just need to keep telling myself focus and quit "chasing squirrels"

I'd offer a van project trade for the Kaisers, but that wouldn't help either of us! :D
Yeah, just like women tend to see something injured and become nurses or a bad guy and think "I can fix him', guys see a project car and think I can fix it.
I hope the banger gets knocked out, even if it's just a wire brush strip, brush paint overhaul and ratchet strapped body on the running chassis. Get it so it takes you around side streets and puts a grin on your face.

All the usual "If it was closer" talk on that poop covered mess of a 40 Plymouth. Guess it's a good thing the link doesn't open.
I've got a complete coupe and a parts car, but why not add that, too.
