I sent my long time Army buddy this link and told him I could relive my youth with this one, I owned one in the mid 80's

    https://www.facebook.com/share/14NVnztd3AM/

This one is rough as a cob, my buddy said it looked like it aged as well as we had. Lol

Going to check out this thing later today. I have a real soft spot for the 66-67 Chargers. I really like the interior and exterior styling. Checked one out last year or the year before, but was a little too beat up on the interior. At least this one is in town. Not sure why the seller wouldn’t post current pics. Asked for them and never got them several months ago, so it’s still for sale and decided to check it out.

Bring a blanket or something to cover your head and the dash to check the gauges. Electroluminescent is not a cheap fix. Check tail lights too. Oh, and the flip front lights.
Rust in the usual places, rockers, rear quarters, tail panel, front floor.
Looks like still single pot drums.
Looks like no headliner. Price that out P&L and figure that into the cost.
The 318 is the low end of engines.
I have the feeling it's not looking as good these days.

Yeah for sure. Chances are it’s a no go. He said he had the body completely stripped down when he got it. I’m most interested in “rust free” and complete.
In the very off chance I purchase it, the 318 would be gonzo, replaced with a 440 and 4-sp. lol! Lots of “cheap” 440s available locally, but the 4-speed not so much. Just watched Jamie from Dead Dodge Garage vids on YT where he swapped in a 4-sp to a 66 Charger. Seems straight forward to me.

A 440 4 speed was OE, so if you can source all the bits or like replacements, it should bolt in.
    However, consider the other systems.
Cooling - BBs had a bigger radiator with a bigger hole in the front support.
Suspension - heavier, so bigger torsion bars, probably need shocks too. HP BB and hemi cars had added unibody structure. Quick example
    https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/hemi-reinforcement-plates.179348/

Of course, the pedal box and floor hump need to be added and the console replaced or modified. I haven't dug into the details, but you should. It's early enough that it doesn't have steering column/ignition differences for anti theft, AFAIK. Don't forget the driveshaft. Oh, and exhaust.

    Finally,
Brakes - If this is going to be a mild cruise to the cars and coffee and local shows, you might get away with fresh top of the line drums. If you plan on spirited driving, National Highway System travel, or want the go to be matched by the woah, major upgrades here are prudent.

I think the parts add up to the price, but this is going to need some heavy work to wipe the Ugly off.

    1923 Ford T-Bucket – Chevy 350 – Runs Strong - Project - $2,950
    1923 Ford
    cylinders: 8 cylinders
    fuel: gas
    odometer: 500
    ***le status: clean
    transmission: automatic
    odometer broken
The car was purchased last December. My father-in-law worked on it, but has decided it is more than he can handle in the garage.

1923 Ford T-Bucket hot rod project — priced to move at $2,950.
It runs and sounds great, but it’s still a project overall. Looking for someone ready to pick it up this week.

Price is firm at $2,950 – no trades, no lowballs
I’m looking for a serious buyer who can:

    Bring a trailer

Meet at the car in Corona this week

Confirm the arrangement with a small, refundable good-faith deposit (Zelle) to hold the pickup time — due to too many no-shows.

    Specs & Condition:

GM 350 engine – runs strong

Turbo 350 transmission – shifts tight

    Fibergl*** body on solid frame

Starts, idles, and moves under power (but will still need towing or a trailer to take it home)

Needs finishing work: steering column mount, wiring cleanup, gauges, and engine mounts installed, and cross-member review

Great platform for a hot rod or rat rod build

    Clean Arizona ***le in hand

    AZ ***le & Registration.

Excellent ch***is, disc brakes all around--see more details in the photos.

    See photos and video:

    Car is being sold as-is.

Call or text with any questions. The car is located in Corona, CA.

Well, it’s pretty beat up. At least he says it’s an Arizona car with “no” rust. He says one small patch panel on lower rear quarter on DS because it was full of sand.
He painted the interior plastic and had seats redone when he acquired it 13 yrs ago. Dash doesn’t work. Headlights don’t work (missing harness). Missing headliner as well. Feel bad for him as he says he was 83 yts old, and his wife developed dementia 5 yrs ago, and is now really bad. With the cost of parts/labour today, and with the low CAN/USA dollar exch rate, I really see this a rolling shell, maybe worth. CAN$10K - $12K. Still waiting for him to send pics though of the body before paint. He said it was originally white ext with wht int.

    [edit]

He sent the pics via FB ad. Body looked great back then. Shame it didn’t get the attention it deserved back then. If it was a numbers matching 383 4-sp, with lots of factory options, it would be worth restoring, but not really as a plain Jane for the price he’s asking.

Off topic is Off Topic. On topic is On Topic. Different things.
The entire deal doesn't seem that hard to me.
Off Topic doesn't belong on the main board and quickly gets deleted. That is the reason this side is available, to post off topic stuff. You can still post on topic stuff on that thread on the On Topic side of the board. Here, at least we get a chance to see the pictures.

Incorrect wheels have been a delete spear point for a long time over on the On Topic section. EFI, modern frame swaps, rack & pinion steering, and billet aluminum also don't belong on the main board and result in near instant delete over there. Post that stuff here. Pretty simple really.

The hard part is remembering which side of the board the thread you are responding to is on.

Kind of reminds me of the times I changed the plugs in a 69 Plymouth Barracuda with a 383.
I had top pull all the plugs from each bank, starting at the front from under the exhaust manifold, I had to pull the alt off the p***enger side to gain access to the area under the exhaust manifold, this one appears to need the alt pulled of the drivers side. I had to pull each plug wire, remove the plug, then moved to the next cylinder back and proceeded on with each plug. Then after all the plugs on one side were out, I installed the new plugs starting at the rear, and installing the plug then its wire. Then I could move forward and do the same thing one plug and one wire at a time. then I got to move to the other head and start the process all over again.

Or changing the plugs out of a late 60s & early 70s FE powered Mustang, those were fun too. On one of them we drilled holes in the inner fenders to gain access (with the owners permission, we installed rubber plugs in the drilled holes when we were finished). And while I'm thinking about it, the back side plugs on a V6 FWD mini van were not much fun either.

If I think about it very much, I'm pretty sure the list vehicles where the plugs were "FUN" to change may be pretty long...

Maverick and Monza V8s spring to mind, but a 3rd gen Camaro Berlinetta was no picnic. Most of the FWD minivans with V6s stank. The 8 plug 4 cylinder Rangers were a pain, and Isuzus tended to be annoying. Special mention to Chevettes with A/C and X1/9s were hateful.

Had a ‘50 Dodge with a 318 that was a real pita. Had to cut a wedge out of the fender well, bend it back, and reattach it to provide access to the p***enger side plugs… 2077.jpeg

Corvettes with a/c and the factory stainless steel headers were a special kind of hell!
